Ephesians 3:17-19
“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
What is true fellowship? Fellowship is more than just getting together and talking. It’s more than just coming together and eating. Fellowship includes that, but we can do that with other people and not have anything in common. What makes our fellowship great is the fact that we have something in common. It means sharing lives, sharing emotions, bearing one another’s burdens, encouraging one another and helping people who have needs.
Our common faith will make us walk the same path. Our common faith will make us go through the same struggles. For that reason in fellowships we should find time to connect with one another by talking of the things that are important in our lives, maybe the things we are struggling with, and even the things we need to be praying for each other. Most of all we need to be showing the love of Christ towards each other. When we experience true fellowship it will be hard for us to leave that group of people. It will be hard to say goodbye.
