Isaiah 62: 6-7 On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who profess the LORD, take no rest for yourselves; And give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem an object of praise on the earth. (NASB)
When you have something on your heart that concerns you, keep praying. As we see all the evil things that happen in the world, we should always pray. When you know of someone who is sick, don’t stop praying for them. If you see that some people are heading in a direction that could harm them, keep praying for them.
The lesson in this verse is that God’s people should never stop praying! We are like the watchmen of old. We keep vigilant to danger day and night. Therefore, our prayers go to the Father day and night. Paul tells us the same thing in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. When we know that someone is in trouble, or when we know that our country is in trouble, then it is our duty to pray and pray and pray. Give no rest until the name of the Lord is praised because of an answered prayer.
