God Reigns Now and Forever

Isaiah 40: 22-23 It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness. (ESV)
Legos are amazing! I love playing Legos with my kids. When my son, Ethan, was little, he would build a lot of things for me to see when I got home. He was so good about following directions from the paper manual, and it was beautiful to see his creations. In fact, I have some of them in my office. Now, my two youngest ones are the opposite. They open the box of Legos, toss the directions aside and start making their own creations. It seems that every five minutes, they’re looking for lost pieces. In the end, it really doesn’t look like the box model, but they’re very happy because they made a dog or cat out of Legos.
When I read these verses in Isaiah, it reminds me that God is the creator, he makes what He desires and sets purpose to everything he makes. He has a plan for all that he creates, and we can trust His plan for us. Don’t worry about who rules the earth. Be happy to know who rules our universe. Governments and rulers are temporary; God reigns forever!
