Sleep Study

Matthew 11: 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (ESV)
In a few weeks I will be having my sleep study. I seem to fall asleep at the wrong times. I fall asleep when reading, sitting down and throughout the day. A nap would not even fix it. I would be sleepy during meetings, during family time, during worship. I was sleepy all the time. The doctor said that if I get enough rest, I will feel so much better.
These situations made me think of this Bible verse. We could be doing the right things, but our full attention and full energy is not there. We could be in a situation where we are spiritually tired, and we are spiritually sleepy. If that is you, then you need to make some changes in your life. You need to get enough rest. You need to lay your cares, problems and worries on Christ. You are not bothering God when you come to Him in prayer. You need to rest in Him! If you don’t rest in Him, you are going to be spiritually tired, and you are going to live your Christian life serving him in a mediocre way. Come, lay your burden on Him because He cares.
