Mission Work

Acts 20: 24 But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God. (NASB)

What does it mean to do mission work? A lot of times we think that mission work is going to be evangelizing and preaching all day. People also think that mission work requires you to know a lot about the Bible. Some others think that mission work demands that we sacrifice everything in order to go to another country.

I have been involved in missions for about 30 years. I have seen many mission teams come by with different agendas and different ways of doing things. Being on the other side of these mission trips and being the recipient of the charities, I can tell you that the ones with most success are the ones that truly show the love of Christ. I still remember their names and faces today. That’s how much of an impact they made on me. They showed me how Jesus would treat me while they served, sacrificed and preached. If you can do that, you can do mission work too!
