Don Bowen has served as an elder at Riverchase since 1991 after serving as deacon since 1980. He and his wife, Joyce, were part of the original group that came from the Central Church of Christ and started the Riverchase Church of Christ in November of 1979. Don graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1971 with a degree in chemistry and is now the Director of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Pathology at UAB. Don and Joyce have three sons, three daughter-in-laws and five grandchildren, all living in Nashville. Don Genry has served as an elder at Riverchase since 1985 after serving as a deacon since 1980. He and his wife Shirley moved to Riverchase in November 1979. Don also served as a deacon at three congregations prior to Riverchase beginning in 1963 at the Concord Street Church of Christ in Orlando, Florida. He and Shirley have three children, two daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. Don is retired from IBM and Alabama Brick. Grover Jackson has served as an elder at Riverchase since 1987 and served as a deacon for a number of years prior. Grover and his family have been at Riverchase since "day one" - the first Sunday in November, 1979. Grover and his wife, Jo are Realtors with REMAX First Choice in Pelham. They both graduated from David Lipscomb University in 1971. They have two sons; Bryan is married to Charlotte and lives in Paragould, Arkansas with their two sons - Christopher and James; Jeff is married to Melissa and lives in Arlington, Texas with their son - Tyler. Ron Jackson has served as an elder since 2000 after serving as a deacon for several years. Ron and his wife, Peggy, have been attending Riverchase since 1981. Ron is a graduate of Alabama Christian (currently known as Faulkner University) - A.A., Harding University - B.A., Abilene Christian University - M.A., and the University of Alabama - J.D. He has served as a District Judge in Shelby County since 1991. Ron and Peggy grew up within 20 miles of each other, but didn't start dating until they were at Abilene Christian. They were married in 1971 and have one son; Alan, two daughters; Amy and Anna; and one son-in-law; Ray. Peggy is now a retired school teacher. In his spare time, Ron enjoys gardening, reading - and all sports. Tim Parker has served as an Elder at Riverchase since 2000. He and wife, Barbara have been members at Riverchase since 1997. He formerly served as a Deacon at the Broad Street congregation in Phenix City, AL, the Warm Springs Road congregation in Columbus, GA and here at Riverchase. Tim graduated from Auburn University in 1970 and was employed with Goody Products until taking early retirement. He returned to Auburn graduating in 1997 with a Masters Degree in Education. He taught Career Technology at Thompson High and Riverchase Middle schools and coached baseball at Thompson High School. He currently serves as Director of the Birmingham Campus of Faulkner University. Tim and Barbara have two children, Candy and Chris, daughter- in-law, Lana and two precious grandsons, Jackson and Logan. Ron Steen has served as an elder at Riverchase since 1991 after serving as a deacon for several years. He and his wife, Becky, began attending Riverchase in 1984. Prior to coming to Riverchase, Ron served as a deacon at two other congregations, and he regularly teaches Bible classes. He graduated from Auburn University in 1970 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and currently works for AT&T. Ron and Becky have a married son and married daughter and four beautiful grandchildren. When time allows, Ron enjoys his hobby of photography.
