World Bible School (WBS) Ministry
World Bible School is a work of holy love which believes every soul is
precious to God.
Jesus once said that the greatest two commandments are,
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." and "Love your neighbor as yourself."
In like manner, John 3:16 expresses God's greatest desire for us.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
God's love is elegant and powerful. Christ embodied that love unto death.
Today, that same love motivates the people of God to share their faith in Jesus with others using Bible correspondence courses as the teaching mechanism.

How to get involved teaching World Bible School
WBS is Biblical basis - God wants all people everywhere to know His message in the Bible. And the Great Commission directs all Christians to share that message with others. That’s how God uses WBS.
Why should I teach WBS?
All people everywhere need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. You can help them! You can help fulfill Jesus' charter to "go into all the world..."-using WBS correspondence courses! WBS teachers (or "study helpers") are young and old, individuals and families. The lessons' multiple choice questions are easy to grade. You do not have to have Bible knowledge to use them. It is enough to promptly exchange lessons with your students, write encouraging notes and pray on their behalf. The time that the process takes is flexible for your own schedule-from a few minutes a week to as much as you like. But what God accomplishes through you with each precious soul-and your own personal fulfillment-is rewarding beyond measure!
WBS at RCoC
We currently have 18 teachers here at Riverchase Church Christ. There is no shortage of student names and we need faithful teachers to start and continue the process of teaching these souls eager to learn God’s Word and his will for their lives.
How much time will it take to teach with WBS?
Most teachers will say that they spend approx. one and a half hours a week.
What are the WBS lessons like?
WBS offers a core study set of six multi-lesson course books, along with some optional lessons and new ones under development. Known as the “Master Series”, the heavily Bible-based lessons teach the fundamentals of God, His grace and love, Jesus, the Gospel message, the church and Christian living. Citing Scripture liberally, a student can actually complete the coursework without a Bible in-hand. The courses are designed to use God’s words themselves to elicit an informed, personal, faith response to God’s call. Who pays for the WBS lessons?
Riverchase Church of Christ pays for all lesson materials. Teachers usually pay the cost to mail lessons.
How do I sign up to teach?
Email Alan Jones at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and let him know you want to be a teacher. There are teachers meetings periodically as needed to distribute new names, answer questions and encourage each other as teachers.
How do I get student names and addresses?
You will be supplied names on mailing labels by the WBS Coordinator as needed.
How many student names should I begin with?
Take as many as you feel like your schedule will allow. Remember, it takes time to grade and mail lessons as well as write the student a personal note. Some students you write to may not respond for several weeks or months or never. Someone may get the lesson you send other than the student you intended to reach and they may begin a study. Remember, mail service overseas is not as reliable as ours.
